The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) on July 10, 2026, notified the establishment of six new Indian Standards covering industrial components, machinery safety, calibration, and galvanizing specifications. The standards were established with effect from July 9, 2026.
The Indian Standards are as follows:
• IS 7386:2026 (ISO 8741:2025) – Reverse-taper Grooved Pins — Half-length Progressive Grooves — Specification (Third Revision), replacing IS 7386:2005.
• IS/ISO 7425-2:2021 – Hydraulic Fluid Power Cylinders — Dimensions and Tolerances of Housings for Elastomer Energized, Plastic-Faced Seals – Part 2: Rod Seal Housings (First Revision).
• IS 12157:2026 – Requirements for Construction of Work Platform of Powered Industrial Trucks (For Maintenance Purposes) (First Revision), replacing IS 12157:1987.
• IS 16812:2026 (ISO 14119:2024) – Safety of Machinery — Interlocking Devices Associated with Guards — Principles for Design and Selection (First Revision), replacing IS 16812:2018
• IS 19592:2026 – Gauge Block Comparator — Calibration.
• IS 19841:2026 – Galvanizing Grade (GG) Zinc Alloy Ingots for Hot Dip Galvanizing of Steel — Specification.
