The Central Depository Services (India) Limited (CDSL) on July 28, 2026, issued a notification regarding Operational Guidelines for Capturing DARPAN Registration ID in Demat Accounts of Non-Profit Organisation.
The following has been stated: -
•CDSL has made it mandatory for Depository Participants (DPs) to capture the DARPAN Registration ID for newly opened demat accounts of specified Non-Profit Organizations (NPOs) under the revised Trust and Corporate status/sub-status codes.
•For existing demat accounts falling under these categories, the DARPAN ID must be captured at the time of account modification.
•DPs have been advised to implement the revised operational guidelines and ensure compliance with the requirement.
