Commercial ComplianceThe Government of Andhra Pradesh on July 29, 2026, issued amendments to the AP Building Rules, 2017.

The following has been stated: -

•The Andhra Pradesh Government has amended the AP Building Rules, 2017 by revising the definition of high-rise buildings to include structures of 24 metres or more, and introducing definitions for creches and public worship buildings. 

•The amendments expand the documentation requirements for building permissions, including mandatory NOCs, structural certifications, insurance, fire safety clearances, and compliance with in-building communication infrastructure.

•Buildings used exclusively for public worship have been exempted from building permit fees and other applicable charges, subject to prescribed conditions and online application. 

•The amendments also permit payment of City Level Infrastructure Impact Fees in six instalments over three years and revise provisions relating to occupancy certification and residential buildings.
