The Central Electricity Authority (CEA) on January 01, 2026, in exercise of the powers conferred under Section 177 of the Electricity Act, 2003, has issued draft Central Electricity Authority (Technical Standards for Connectivity to the Grid) Regulations, 2026 for public consultation. These draft regulations aim to prescribe updated technical standards governing connectivity to the power grid.
The draft regulations have been made available on the official website of the CEA to ensure transparency and wider stakeholder participation. The objective is to strengthen grid reliability, standardize connectivity requirements, and align with evolving power system needs, including integration of renewable energy and modern grid technologies.
Stakeholders and members of the public are invited to submit their comments and suggestions via email to the designated officials of the Grid Management Division and Regulatory Affairs Division. The last date for submission of feedback is August 17, 2026.
