The National Stock Exchange of India (NSE), on August 4, 2026, issued a circular informing members about the implementation of SEBI's modified norms for nomination in Demat Accounts and Mutual Fund Folios, pursuant to SEBI Circular No. SEBI/HO/OIAE/OIAE_IAD-3/P/CIR/2026/12676 dated May 29, 2026. The changes will be incorporated into the client registration process to facilitate ease of doing investments.
The revised nomination requirements will be implemented across Manual Interface, Bulk Upload, and API modes of the client registration process. The updated functionality will be made available in the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) environment from August 17, 2026, with the target go-live date of September 1, 2026.
NSE has advised members, including those using third-party vendor solutions or in-house developed trading applications, to initiate the necessary system developments to ensure compatibility with the revised requirements before the production rollout. The circular also provides Annexure A and Annexure B, detailing the revised UCC Registration Web File Structure and API File Structure, respectively.
