The Government of Maharashtra on August 05, 2026, issued the Bombay Foreign Liquor (Amendment) Rules, 2026 to further amend the Bombay Foreign Liquor Rules, 1953.
The following amendments have been stated:
• In rule 25 of the Bombay Foreign Liquor Rules, 1953 in sub-rule (4), in clause (d), after sub-clause (v), the following sub-clause shall be added, namely :-
"(vi) (A) If the proposed shifting of FL-2 licence is to be done in a residential or residential-and-commercial complex and if the said complex is registered as a society under section 9 of Maharashtra Co-operative Societies Act, 1963 (XXIV of 1961), it shall be mandatory to obtain the no-objection certificate from such society for shifting of FL-2 licence;
(B) No-objection certificate from the society shall be mandatory for shifting of FL-2 licence to a residential or residential-and-commercial complex with partial occupancy certificate;
(C) For FL-2 license holder who has shifted to a registered society with a no-objection certificate from such society, there shall be no need to obtain a no-objection certificate from the said society every year."
