The International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) on August 12, 2026, issued a notification inviting Public Comments on the Consultation Paper on Amendments to IFSCA (Fund Management) Regulations, 2025.
The following has been stated: -
•The document contains public comments and suggestions on the proposed amendments to the IFSCA (Fund Management) Regulations, 2025, aimed at improving ease of doing business and regulatory flexibility in GIFT IFSC.
•Key suggestions include removing or relaxing the proposed 25% ceiling on associate investments and introducing flexibility for feeder funds.
•Stakeholders also proposed allowing regulated Payment Service Providers, greater flexibility in fund structures, and open-ended Category II AIFs.
•Further proposals seek to ease third-party fund management by relaxing Principal Officer requirements and increasing the corpus limit from USD 50 million to USD 100 million.
•Overall, the suggestions seek to reduce compliance burdens, enhance operational flexibility and strengthen GIFT IFSC’s competitiveness as an international fund-management jurisdiction.
