Commercial ComplianceThe Department of State Taxes and Excise, Himachal Pradesh, on August 11, 2026, issued a notification regarding Orphan and Widow Cess on Petrol and Diesel.

The following has been stated: -

•The Himachal Pradesh Government has imposed Orphan and Widow Cess at ₹0.60 per litre on Petrol and High-Speed Diesel.

•The cess will be levied at the point of first sale in Himachal Pradesh under Section 6-A of the HP VAT Act, 2005.

•The notification will come into force from midnight of August 11, 2026.
