KSPCB issues Circular for banning manufacture, sale and use of plastic carry bags

EHS Complianceclass="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">The Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) on November 27, 2019, has issued a Circular related to banning manufacture, sale and use of plastic carry bags and other items. The KSPCB vide Notification No. FEE 31 ENG 2016 dated April 04, 2018, has substituted the meaning of ‘plastic bags’ specified under Para 3, explanation-2. Plastic bags means bags made from plastic material or compostable plastic material, used for the purchase of carrying or dispensing commodities but do not include bags that constitute or form an integral part of the packaging in which goods are sealed prior to use at manufacturing and processing units.
