The Goa Labour Department on May 21, 2020, implements the Central amendments on the Central Industrial Employment (Standing Orders) Central (Amendment) Rules, 2018, to further amend the Central Industrial Employment (Standing Orders) Rules, 1946.
The following amendments are as under:
• Insertion of Rule 3A: No employer of an industrial establishment shall convert the posts of the permanent workmen existing in his industrial establishment on the date of commencement of the Industrial Employment (Standing Orders) Central (Amendment) Rules, 2018, as fixed term employment thereafter. In Appendix-A fixed term employment has also been inserted along with fixed term employment workman Definition.
• Paragraph 13 which specifies the termination of the employment has been substituted.
They will come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
