Chandigarh Government issues guidelines under Disaster Management Act, 2005

EHS ComplianceThe Government of Chandigarh has issued the guidelines under Disaster Management Act, 2005 in continuance with the order passed on June 30, 2020 vide or order no. 13180-HIII(5)/2020/6597. 

Following guidelines have been given by the government: 

• Odd-even system is to be discontinued for market system and street vendors. 

• 2 people on motorbike, 4 in car and 3 in rickshaws including the driver will be allowed.  However, all of them should wear masks and the vehicle is to be sanitised. 

• Shops and restaurants shall be open from 10 pm to 9 am. 

• Call centres shall be allowed to have night shifts. However, the employees are not allowed to come out during the night curfew time i.e. 10 pm to 5 am. 

• Apni mandies and organic markets shall remain shut till further orders. 

• Inter-state buses will be suspended till further orders. 

• All kinds of social, religious, and political gathering shall be prohibited. Alcohol is allowed at weddings, after taking appropriate permission from the authorities. 

• Entertainment activities shall remain shut. Wearing of masks and maintaining social distancing is mandatory.
